Hello, my name is Joey Weisenritter and I teach Guitar Lessons in and around Redondo Beach, CA. I also offer lessons in Acoustic Guitar, Bass Guitar, Composition, Electric Guitar, Music Composition, Music Theory and Pro Tools.
Joey Weisenritter is a composer, arranger, multi-instrumentalist, and instructor from the southwest side of Chicago. He has performed regularly around Chicago over the past decade, from small punk bars to the House of Blue Chicago, and has played in multiple bands with styles ranging from hip-hop and pop-rock to progressive punk and ska. He now lives in Los Angeles, California.
At age 11 Joey started playing saxophone, and followed shortly with electric guitar. From there he picked up electric bass, drums, mandolin, banjo, piano, singing, and began his studies in music composition. He has taken lessons with various instructors including guitarist/activist Harry Hmura, composer/grammy-nominee Dr. Ilya Levinson, and composer/performer Dr. Eliza Brown, and has been giving lessons of his own for several years.
Joey finished his Bachelor of the Arts in Music Composition from Columbia College Chicago in 2015, with a minor in Management. He now composes full-time for his bands, scores films and commercials, and teaches lessons in guitar, electric bass, music theory, and composition.
Joey has had the honor of speaking at the Interlochen Academy for the Arts, is a member of the Tri-M Music Honor Society, a recipient of the Louis Armstrong Award, and graduated magna cum laude from Columbia College Chicago.
